Restoring Connections Disclaimer
We recognise that varied and often complex factors contribute to relational disconnections. Dynamics like families of origin, culture, learnt communication styles, betrayal, and emotional, psychological, or physical trauma soon uncover the vast extent of what may be required to support disconnected relationships to heal, strengthen, and grow.
Helpful support could range from a simple conversation with a trusted friend or mentor, who helps adjust the tone of a previously painful conversation, right through to needing to engage in psychotherapy or treatment for deep pain, trauma, neglect or abuse.
Who does Restoring Connections aim to support?
Restoring Connections courses and programmes offer helpful tools and support for people dealing with stress or ‘stress trauma’ (see continuum below).
We do not require our Mentors to be trained counsellors or trauma specialists, but we do expect them to have a passion for helping others and encourage our Mentors to seek additional professional qualifications if they wish to offer greater support for those dealing with more significant degrees of trauma.
We offer proven and real-life-tested tools to help people become more aware of themselves and their contribution to a relationship. These tools help to shift out of unhelpful communication practices and support relationships in finding forgiveness and restoration when there is still potential and a pathway to that.
The principles in the course and mentoring programme apply to your most important relationships, where there is already a degree of safety and trust.
